Chargeback policy

What happens when a funding payment is challenged or reversed through a financial institution and how related money is held and updated.

What a chargeback is

A chargeback or payment dispute occurs when a person challenges a funding payment through a bank, card issuer, or payment service. That outside process is separate from a service refund or Support request.

If you believe a funding record is wrong, use signed-in Support first when practical. Using Support does not remove any rights you may have with a financial institution.

Effect on the offer and money

A reported dispute can pause the related offer, prevent new commitments, hold unused budget, delay a refund, and hold connected earnings or withdrawals while the funding status is unresolved.

Money already used for approved shares may require review if the underlying funding is reversed. The service does not treat disputed or reversed funding as spendable available budget.

Records and cooperation

The service may provide relevant offer, payment, authorization, evidence, communication, refund, and account records to the financial institution handling the dispute. Information should be limited to what is reasonably needed for the response and related legal obligations.

Do not submit false information, fabricate unauthorized activity, or use a chargeback to avoid a valid obligation. Fraudulent or abusive disputes may lead to account restrictions and further review.

Outcome

The financial institution or payment service controls its dispute decision and timing. The service updates holds, available budget, refunds, costs, and related money to match that result and applicable rules.

A won dispute may release an appropriate hold. A lost dispute or payment reversal may reduce available budget and keep related money under review. The service does not assign an unverified chargeback fee or shortfall to a user.

Getting help

Use signed-in Support to ask about the service's status for a payment dispute. Include the offer, amount, date, and the status shown in your account, but do not send a full card number, bank credentials, or identity documents through an ordinary message.
